Android grabs 50% of UK smartphone market share

A recent study has revealed that Android now has claimed a whopping 50 per cent market share in UK. According to a research by Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, Android has grabbed a 49.9% share of the UK smartphone market, with BlackBerry making 22.5% and Apple accounting for 18.5% of the market.

Nielsen survey rates Android as the Top Smartphone OS in the U.S. Market

Google’s Android OS stays ahead of both Apple iOS and RIM’s BlackBerry platform and continues to be the most popular choice in the growing U.S. smartphone market, according to the latest survey of Nielsen for three month period ending July 2011. This is good news for Android developers and their interests are gaining momentum at the expense of iPhone and BlackBerry.

Android tablets snatches away 20% of iPad’s market share

Being the undisputed market leader in tablets, Market survey firm, ABI Research’s new “Media Tablets” study reveals that Android has captured 20 percent of the market from Apple iPad in the last year as iPad’s dominance in the market has been shrinking considerably. Google’s Android has been steadily gaining ground during the last year.

Android tablets grab 30% of the market


Android tablets now accounts for 30% of the market’s sales, according to a new report from market research firm, Strategy Analytics. The fast-selling Android Honeycomb tablet, Asus Transformer has just started pushing the sales vigorously shipping over 400,000 tablets a month. What’s more that it is still cheaper than iPad at $100 only. A number of Android tablets was released during the not so distant past  includes Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Acer Iconia Tab A500, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, and HTC Flyer/View 4G.
